Enhancing Digital Presence and Strengthening Advocacy: A Case Study of Women’s Parliamentary Caucus

Introduction

Women’s Parliamentary Caucus (WPC) is a non-partisan platform in Pakistan for Women Parliamentarians that aims to promote gender equality, protect women’s rights, and advocate for gender-sensitive policies and legislation. Despite its crucial role, WPC lacked a digital presence, limiting its outreach and impact. Anthro Reach stepped in to help WPC enhance its digital presence and strengthen its advocacy efforts. This case study examines how Anthro Reach leveraged digital marketing strategies to empower WPC and amplify its mission.

Problem Statement

WPC, a cross-party forum for Women Parliamentarians, faced challenges in reaching a wider audience due to a limited digital presence. The lack of a functional official website, social media accounts, and coordination among provincial WPCs hindered its ability to effectively advocate for women’s rights and influence policy-making. WPC needed to enhance its digital presence and outreach to expand its impact and promote gender equality effectively.

Solution and Implementation

Anthro Reach collaborated with WPC to revamp its digital presence and strengthen its advocacy efforts.

The following steps were taken:

  1. Developing a State-of-the-Art Website for WPC

Anthro Reach designed and developed a state-of-the-art and PWD user-friendly website for WPC. The website includes comprehensive information about WPC’s objectives, activities, and achievements. It also features mapping of different women-related laws in Pakistan, making it a valuable resource for researchers, academia, and civil society organizations.

  • Establishing a National Coordination Forum for Women’s Parliamentary Caucuses

Anthro Reach helped WPC create a National Coordination Forum that facilitated inter-provincial coordination among WPCs of different provinces and at the federal level. This forum provided a platform for WPC members to collaborate, share best practices, and jointly advocate for gender-sensitive policies and legislation.
